About the session

Permaculture is a design system that ties together people, communities and our connection to the natural environment. It’s a mash-up of ecology, architecture and systems thinking.

Permaculture can help your team or product understand its impact and role in the climate emergency. The 12 Permaculture Principles are thinking tools often used in land or community-based design to help us tread lightly and harmoniously on earth.

This workshop is a chance to learn and apply the Permaculture Principles to your team, product or challenge. We will walk through each one, consider parallels with Agile, analyse and generate actions, then share learnings (if you wish!) with the group.

Who is this session for?

People will be inspired to come to this session if they are motivated to consider their team or product’s impact on the environment but haven’t yet had a chance to do any analysis or take action towards that goal

For people who have already considered or taken some eco-actions, there will be time to share their ideas for the benefit of others.

Participant takeaways:

  • ‘Learn by doing’: experience a new and original workshop about applying Permaculture to your Agile team/product/challenge
  • Generate eco-sustainable actions and outcomes for your team/product/challenge
  • Learn from the eco-sustainable ideas generated by others
  • Participants can sign-up to access a slide deck and Miro Board to help them re-use and re-do the workshop they experienced again and again (materials will be shared with a creative commons licence)

Themes: Team reflection, Product reflection, Workshop, Eco-sustainability, Eco-friendly, Sustainable, Alternative retrospective
