What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as local storage, scripts and tags, to remember choices, provide features, measure how a website is used or support advertising.

How these are applied

Analytics and Advertising cookies are not set until you opt-in to accepting either or both types of cookies. If you do not opt-in to accepting Analytics or Advertising cookies, the site records your choice in the Site consent cookie and the relevant scripts remain blocked.

You can reopen the consent controls using the "Manage consents" button available from the footer on every page of the website. If you withdraw consent after previously accepting, the site attempts to remove Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies and related local-storage entries that it controls. Some third-party cookies, such as cookies set by Google or DoubleClick on their own domains, may remain until they expire or are removed through your browser settings.

If you would prefer these cookies not be set at all, you can block or delete them at any time using your browser's cookie settings (see "Managing cookies" below).

Cookies from embedded and linked third-party content

Some pages on this site embed or link to content hosted by other providers, who may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies (which we don't control):

Where Provider What it is Cookies the provider may set
Location page Google Maps Click-to-load map showing Churchill College; not loaded until you choose to view it Google may set its own cookies within the map frame once you choose to load it
"What Our Participants Say" page LinkedIn Link to LinkedIn posts (not embedded; LinkedIn's cookies are governed by LinkedIn's own cookie policy and only apply if you click through to their site) Not applicable
Tickets page Eventbrite Link to our external Eventbrite ticket-sales page (not embedded; Eventbrite's cookies are governed by Eventbrite's own cookie policy and only apply if you click through to their site) Not applicable

Third-party scripts

Our mailing-list signup page also loads a form-validation script from our email provider, Mailchimp, and the signup form submits to Mailchimp. No cookies were observed being set on our site by this script during the July 2026 review.

Google Fonts is used to deliver web fonts. Google Tag Manager (container GTM-5PTG9LDR) and Google Analytics are present on the site but are blocked by the consent manager until these cookies are accepted. After accepting:

  • Analytics cookies: Google Analytics scripts are loaded.
  • Advertising cookies: Google Tag Manager and Google Ads / DoubleClick services are loaded.

Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings. Be aware that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this and other websites.

You can also change your choice for this site at any time by using the "Manage consents" button.
