About the session

Your hosts are Emily Webber and Cara Bermingham

13:30 - 14:00 - Grab your lunch first

Neil Younger - Theory Vs Practice - Helping Our Teams Learn, with a unicycle

A short talk that poses more questions than answers around the themes of theory and practice. I’ll touch on observing, learning, teaching, shortcuts, starting small, motivation, and unicycles - lots and lots of unicycles.

Emma Beer - How agile by stealth broke my writer's block

It was only after I completed a seven-week writer’s course this year (at the Uni of Cambridge Institute of Continuous Education) after years & years of writers’ courses that I realised what had broken through my stubborn writer’s block - tools and sensibilities from the profession I’ve worked in for the last eight plus years.

In this talk, I’ll share how the tools of agility helped to find my flow.  Finding flow never felt so good!

Agile on the Bench is a friendly, low-fi, lunchtime, outdoor, agile meetup. Expect short fun talks about all things agile, people, teams, users and getting things done… on a bench. Being outside means no tech, there are no laptops or projectors, just the speakers, the participants and lots of fantastic ideas.

Agile on the Bench is a community event run by agile people for agile people (and passing joggers).
