About the session

Are teams fully embracing agile iteration and incrementation? My experience in the past three years as a scrum master tells me: not yet.

If agile is difficult, I recommend trying artful making.

The rule of thumb for artful making is: Play emerges from Ensemble, which results from Collaboration, which needs Release.

The term, “artful making,” comes from the 2003 book, “Artful Making: What Managers Need to Know About How Artists Work”. The key message of the book is that with today's enabling technologies, artful making can be applied in virtually any environment with knowledge-based outputs, such as in agile software and product development.

Let's dive deeper so you can use artful making to help your teams embrace iterative and incremental agile.

Participant takeaways:

  • Recognise similarities between art rehearsal and software development
  • Understand the prerequisites for artful making
  • Understand the qualities of artful making
  • Use artful making to help your team(s) embrace iterative and incremental agile
