As companies become successful they accrue older software that is harder to evolve and has higher maintenance costs.

It's inevitable that we will all need to modernise legacy systems at various points throughout our career.

While there are many technical challenges to legacy modernisation, there are also many organisational challenges like managing dependencies between many teams modernising at the same time and balancing new features vs modernisation work.

In this talk, Nick will share some common patterns along with real case examples from his career and especially current projects he is working on at PayFit.
