About the session

Today, the portfolio wall at Ocado Technology is one of the most important tools we use to have global visibility and to aid collaboration across hundreds of people in 4 development centres. This is the place we go to to talk about the products and when important decisions have to be made. This is the place to see the flow, learn, share and prioritise.
It took us a while to get there, but it was worth every step. This is the next chapter of a story about the evolution of the portfolio wall, starting from scratch and with lessons learnt on the way. Things we wish someone told us before we started.

Anna Miedzianowska

While Anna's names might seem unpronounceable at first (it's pronounced A-N-A, by the way), she is definitely not someone who is hard to understand. Making complex things simple is at the core of what she does. For the past 4 years, Anna has been applying that principle at Ocado Technology.

Her first role at Ocado was to improve the lives of their delivery drivers by providing software that helps them be the best they can be. She did this by regularly asking them what they needed (I know, who does that???). Now Anna is Principal Product Manager and her goal is to keep Ocado at the bleeding edge of customer experience by tightening feedback loops, assessing value and validating delivery. Sounds simple? It is, thanks to Anna.

William Peck

Will is one of the most passionate leaders you’ll ever meet. His obsession with agile and data is highly contagious. Not only will he stare at tonnes of graphs 'til they really make sense (yes, they finally give up!), he will also explain it to others in a fun and memorable way. His 3 favourite words are ‘flow’, ‘throughput’ and ‘WIP’.

Will has dedicated the last decade of his life to Ocado Technology. Originally hired as a software developer, he focused on Supply Chain domain for quite a number of years. This helped our customers to get exactly what they want exactly when they want it.

Today Will leads the whole Business Systems department and makes sure that people are the best they can be at what they do and things are done right. He’s not afraid of being wrong, especially if there is data to prove it!
